Police Officer says God Protected Him from Pentagon Gunman

According to an AP story today, one of the two guards who was shot at yesterday by the gunman near the entrance to the Pentagon, credited God for His protection. (AP Photo)

Officers Jeffery Amos and Marvin Carraway were superficially wounded by a gunman?who was later identified as John Patrick Bedell?when he pulled out a gun and began to shoot at them on Thursday night, after they asked for his pass.

Both officers were treated and released from the hospital. Bedell, who was fatally wounded in return fire, died Friday morning.

Amos reportedly told the AP, "I just thank the Lord that He shielded me when all of this took place."
