The Oregon Supreme Court today nullified nearly 3,000 marriage licenses issued to same gender couples a year ago in Multnomah County. The court said the matter was a concern of the state, and the county had no legal right to issue the licenses.
The court also noted the approval by Oregonians of a constitutional amendment last November that limits marriages to being between a man and a woman.
