"I challenged my friends to 'please not cuss around me.'"

(California)—California teen, McKay Hatch, grew weary of his peers in school peppering their everyday language with expletives. "When I got to middle school, all my friends who I thought would never cuss, started cussing," he explained to FOX News. "The only reason they were doing it was to fit in, or be cool." So McKay took action. "I challenged my friends to 'please not cuss around me,'" said McKay, and his friends honored his request—later telling the teen that the only reason they don't cuss was because of him. That gave McKay an idea for a special club for those who would rather not cuss.

On June 1st, 2007, the "No Cussing Club" was founded by McKay, and has since grown to include a club in every state of America, and also in nearly 20 countries across the world. "A few of my role models are my dad...and Mitt Romney, for [having] good morals and values," added McKay.

Unfortunately, not everyone shares the boy's enthusiasm for clean language, as McKay has received a large amount of hate mail from people claiming he is infringing on their freedom of speech. "I don't know how people got our phone number," said Brent Hatch, McKay's father, "But, they called our house and threatened our kids, they said, 'you've got to stop this and if you don't, we're going to stop it for you,' so McKay's very brave, I'm very proud of him."
