Fox News is reporting that doctors have upgraded Rev. Jerry Falwell’s condition from “critical” to “stable.” He has also been removed from his ventilator. The 71-year-old founder of Liberty University and the Moral Majority was admitted to Lynchberg General hospital late Monday night in “respiratory arrest.”
Doctors say Falwell is suffering from fluid in his lungs from congestive heart failure. They say he did not have a heart attack or a recurrence of pneumonia. The reverend’s executive assistant said he is talking with friends and family and that his vital signs are “steady and strong.”
