Federal Hearing Over, But No Ruling Yet in Appeal to Reinsert Feeding Tube for Terri Schiavo—in Her 3rd Day Without Food or Water

U.S. District Judge James Whittemore today heard arguments on both sides of an appeal to have disabled Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube reinserted. The Judge said he would make no immediate decision and did not give any indication of when he might come back with a ruling. Meanwhile, today (Mon.) marked Terri’s 3rd day without any food or water.

According to Fox News, today’s hearing “followed an unprecedented act by Congress and President Bush to intervene in the Schiavo case.” After a bill was passed by the Senate in the early morning hours on Monday, President Bush, who had returned to the White House from his ranch in Texas for this specific purpose, signed the bill into action and went back to sleep.
