(Florida) A bill that would block doctors from denying food and water to a person in an on-going vegetative state, except for those patients who have given specific written instructions to do so, passed the house panel today and will move on to the full House to be voted on this week. Legislators are hoping the bill will be passed in time to block the removal of Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube, scheduled for this Friday at 1pm. A measure similar to this one was to be considered by the state Senate committee today.
