In a photo shared by the North Carolina National Guard, Sgt. Donovan McPherson, 27, could be seen lifting the little girl in her car seat, as snow fell all around him. The girl and her mom were transported from their home in Lenoir to Hudson, where they have relatives. An astonishing 18 inches of snow was reported to have fallen in Lenoir, making the roads absolutely impassible.
"The baby was recently sick... they were worried the baby would get sick again," McPherson told WRAL-TV. The rescue worker told the station that when he arrived at the home, the mom was a bit panicked as she attempted to gather up her things and evacuate her little daughter...
