Two sources confirmed the heartbreaking discovery to Fox News. Tibbetts' body was found in Iowa. Additional details surrounding the grim developments have not yet been made public.

News of police discovering Tibbetts' body comes just days after law enforcement officers and investigators told the college student's father, Rob Tibbetts, to return home to San Francisco.
