Facebook Now Asks on Every Post "Is This Hate Speech?" What You Can Do to Counteract Their Ploy to Silence Christians and Conservatives

It's a cowardly new world that fears freedom of speech. But when "Big Brother" invades the tech world—and, thus, our everyday lives—with Orwellian mandates, we're left with three options: Unplug, capitulate, or fight back. Think David vs. Goliath, folks.

The attacks came from some family members and "friends of friends" who viciously reacted because they thought the meme was "divisive" and that Americans should all be "unified" on gun control. "It's fake news!" they cried. It wasn't. How could it be? It was simply two facts juxtaposed with each other.

They also demanded I remove it.

It didn't matter when I reminded them that, being an American, my free speech is protected by the Constitution—as is theirs—and that my conscience would no more allow me to remove it than theirs would allow them to remove a similar meme supporting their moral views.

Silly me.

I forgot about the anti-freedom squads' weapon of choice: "Hate speech." Forget what Webster's dictionary might say. "Hate speech" is what liberals have been accusing Christians and conservatives of for a long time.

Support traditional marriage? Hate.

Against abortion? Hate.

Believe euthanasia is wrong? Hate.

The list goes on and on.

The problem is, now tech giants like Facebook have implemented measures that actually tag users as perpetrators of "hate." Tyler O'Neil, writing for PJ Media warns that just this week Facebook launched a new initiative on which virtually every single post, an option emerges asking "Is this hate speech?" It even appears on a user's own post.

I checked my own Facebook wall, and sure enough, by clicking on the dotted symbol in the upper right corner of any post a list appears. By clicking on "Give feedback on this post" I was given several options. One of them was to report it as "Hate speech."

The problem is, Facebook—for American families and friends scattered far and wide across the fruited plain—has become almost a necessity in our need and desire to communicate quickly and efficiently with each other.

So, what to do?

The fact is, we have three options: Unplug, capitulate, or fight back. Think David vs. Goliath, folks.

You can do what you like. Unplugging from social media is certainly tempting. Life would certainly be so much more—ahhhh!—peaceful without it.

As for me—the non-capitulator that I am—I've decided to fight back. That is, until something better and less politically correct than Facebook comes along.

Now, every time a "sponsored" post pops up on my page that I find offensive (there are many—such as New York Times articles extolling people and practices that are amoral or downright insulting to certain voting segments of the U.S.)—I will launch the "Hate speech" bomb at them.

Will it do any good, considering the power of the NYT and the relationship they, no doubt, have with Facebook? Probably not. But it will sure make me feel better. Take that, New York Times!

PS: For those of you who are already Facebook friends, rest assured, I won't ever tag your posts as "Hate speech." That would be hypocritical. But be forewarned: I might tag them as "Fake News" or "Other" if it applies!
