The church posted the news on its website and Facebook page:

Hello Hope Christian Church Family

It is with a heavy heart that we notify you that our beloved Dr Vivian M Jackson has transitioned to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018. Information about the memorial service will be forthcoming. Please pray for the Jackson Family's comfort and respect their right to privacy at this time.

Dr. Jackson, affectionately known as "Dr. Vivian" or "the Marriage Doctor," was an author, counselor and international conference speaker as she pastored Hope Christian Church with her husband. The couple began leading the church in 1988—Harry as senior pastor and Vivian as Christian education and women's pastor.

Hope Christian's website describes Dr. Jackson as a "veteran advocate for building strong families as the foundation for supporting academic achievement." She taught children with special needs in Ohio and Massachusetts until she married Bishop Jackson, after which she founded two Christian day schools. She also hosted conferences and workshops to help families foster strength and unity, both in marriages and in relationships between parents and children.

In 1985, Dr. Jackson was ordained and had served as associate pastor with her husband. She was the first lady of the International Communion of Evangelical Churches and Hope Christian Church.

Dr. Jackson leaves behind her husband and two children. Please pray for the Jackson family and their church during this difficult time.
