According to RelevantMagazine.com, Watson's first paycheck was worth over $27,000. He wanted to give it to the women who work in the team's cafeteria to show his appreciation for all they do and also to help them financially because they had been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Watson, who is only 22, has himself been a recipient of the help of others, so perhaps he also wanted to pay it forward. According to ESPN.com, Watson's family had received a house built by Habitat for Humanity when he was younger.
