"Any shift in the track to the north, could result in tropical storm conditions spreading into Maui county on Thursday. In addition to the heavy rain and strong winds, large and damaging surf is expected along east facing shores of the Big Island and the island of Maui."

Not just one, but two hurricanes are approaching the Hawaiian islands—especially the Big Island. Residents are prepping for the first storm, Madeline, expected to be "over Hawaii County on Wednesday into early Thursday" according to Hawaii News Now. (Screengrab via Hawaii News Now)

On Wednesday, Madeline's maximum sustained winds were about 110 MPH making it a Category 2 hurricane.

Following close behind Madeline is Category 4 hurricane, Lester, which could affect the Islands over the Labor Day weekend.

Meanwhile, Florida and North Carolina are both preparing for tropical storms which are heading their way.
