Lambert started to sing "The House That Built Me," but when she saw this sign in the crowd, the emotional singer stopped mid-song to pull it up on stage.

It read, "3 combat tours... your voice was the last thing I heard every night. Thank you."

Still processing the moving statement, Lambert mouthed the word "Really?" to the soldier as she held up the sign for the audience to see.

Tears quickly filled her eyes, and she was too overwhelmed to finish the song. The country star asked the crowd to sing the next verse as she stepped away to grab some water and collect herself.

As Lambert returned to the mic, her voice was still too shaky to continue, but she intermittently sang a line or two along with the audience, in between wiping away the tears of joy. (Screengrab via YouTube/Faithit.com)
