"We have to find where the boxes are exactly and decide on how to pull them out."

According to reports on Wednesday morning, a French ship has received a signal which may be coming from one of the 'black boxes' contained on the EgyptAir plane that went missing and presumed crashed last month. (Photo: AP-File/via Fox News)

The signals were reportedly picked up by a ship called Laplace, which was said to have arrived in the search area on Tuesday and received the signals from the possible black box overnight, from deep in the Mediterranean Sea.

An Egyptian statement noted that the signals were picked up "from the seabed of the wreckage search area, assumed to be from one of the data recorders."

EgyptAir official, Shaker Kelada reportedly told the AP that investigators' next step would be to find the data recorders' exact location and bring them up from their resting place.

Suggesting robots or submarines to aid in that job, Kelada said, "We have to find where the boxes are exactly and decide on how to pull them out," he said, adding that the search teams needed to "be extremely careful ... to avoid any possible damage."

It is still unknown what exactly was the cause of the tragic EgyptAir crash, which is believed to have killed all 66 passengers and crew aboard, although terrorism has not been ruled out.
