Christian Militia Shows Mercy and Compassion to a Captured ISIS Fighter after Intense Fighting in Tel Asqof Town

The unnamed ISIS fighter blurted at Peshmerga members as "infidels" asking them to kill him, not to take care of his wounds, but the Christian militias showed him compassion and went on with their effort to save him from the injuries he sustained in his attempt to blow himself up during intense fighting at Tel Asqof town in Iraq where several Peshmerga fighters were killed.

There was no clear report of the ISIS fighter's latest condition, though. His body was stuffed around with bombs. He was with 50 other armed men from Samara City to commit a suicide bombing in Tel Asqof.

He broke his ankle from the explosion of a fellow suicide bomber who detonated himself near him.

"I was filming the ISIS fatalities on my phone and saw one of them moving with his ankle severely injured. As we confirmed that he was alive we took care of his injuries," Lt. Col. Salim al-Sunji.

He said the ISIS fighter told him that all of them were to commit suicide bombing because it was the Muslim festival of Isra and Mi'iraj, which commemorate the night journey of Prophet Muhammad to Jerusalem to receive instruction from Allah.

All of the 50 ISIS fighters, Sunji said, wanted to die so they could attend "that ceremony in Heaven."
