Idaho Passes Bill Mandating Abortionists Tell Women about Free Ultrasounds

With only Democrats voting nay, the Idaho Senate yesterday voted 28-7 in favor of HB 516.
 
"If approved, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare would compile a list of providers that offer free ultrasounds for women seeking abortions," the Associated Press reported. "The list would be part of the informed consent brochures abortion providers are required to distribute."
 
To critics who argued the measure restricts "choice," Bill sponsor state Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll said HB 516 "does not limit choice. It just enhances choice. Ultrasounds are truly a window to the womb."
