Justice Scalia's Casket Placed in Great Hall of Supreme Court Where He Served for Nearly Three Decades

According to reports, Scalia's pallbearers were Supreme Court police officers, and his former law clerks served as honorary pallbearers.

Scalia's casket was placed on the Lincoln Catafalque, which, according to an AP report, is the "same platform on which President Abraham Lincoln's coffin once rested at the Rotunda of the Capitol in 1865."

The Catafalque was loaned to the court for Scalia's casket by Congress.

Justice Antonin Scalia was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Ronald Reagan in 1986.
