A Bittersweet Ultrasound Image: Dying Twin Holds His Sister's Hand

Little Mason, who, according to a Fox 5 report, only weighs about 9 ounces, has both a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain.

His sister, Madilyn is healthy, weighing in at over two pounds.

Mom-Brittani McIntire told Fox 5, "His only chance of survival would be heart surgery, but they wouldn't do heart surgery on him because of his brain."

However, this week there was a sweet moment during Brittani's sonogram when the image revealed sister Madilyn holding Mason's hand.

Dad-Ian said of the ultrasound image, "We know that we have a piece of them together that will last forever and is special to have."

Brittani agreed that the image has brought them a little peace, "...it's comforting to know that if he does pass he won't be alone," she told Fox 5 News.
