"At first it was as if someone was shaking us. There were about 20 of us and we just held on to each other."

(Afghanistan)—According to a BBC News report, "panic and chaos" spread across Kabul following a powerful earthquake that has claimed the lives of [at least 200] people. (Photo via EPA/BBC News)

The quake was 7.5-magnitude, and hit north-eastern Afghanistan and Pakistan, but tremors were felt as far away as northern India and Tajikistan.

Twelve of the victims of the quake were reportedly Afghan schoolgirls who were killed as they tried to escape their building.

One witness from Karimabad, told the BBC, "At first it was as if someone was shaking us. There were about 20 of us and we just held on to each other."

"Right after that we saw a major landslide," he added. "Some people say it was a glacier that came down, some people say it was a hill. It fell right in front of our eyes." (Photo: AFP/via BBC News)

Please be praying for the rescue of those still trapped in rubble, for those injured, and for those who've lost loved ones and homes in the quake.
