From its humble beginnings, hundreds of thousands take part, and millions of Americans are reached with the pro-life message each year on the first Sunday of October.

From coast to coast in the United States and Canada, October 4th was the annual day of public witness for children killed by abortion. In over 1500 locations across North America—over 200 locations in Canada alone—pro-life activists lined the streets. In some cities, such as San Antonio, over 1000 people showed up. Life Chain participants held signs with messages saying: "Abortion Kills Children," "Jesus Forgives And Heals," "Adoption: The Loving Option," "Lord, Forgive Us And Our Nation," "Abortion Hurts Women," "Pray To End Abortion," and "Life-The First Inalienable Right."

Tens of thousands of people across the country stood silently on the side of highways or roads, witnessing for life of the unborn.
