(Moneta, VA)—It's not yet known why "disgruntled former employee" of a Virginia news station is believed to have gunned down reporter Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward during a live shoot on Wednesday morning. (Photo via Fox News)

According to a Fox News report, suspect Vester Lee Flanagan (41), dressed in black, walked up to the media crew as Parker was interviewing Vicki Gardner about tourism in the area.

Flanagan allegedly began firing at Parker who tried to run but was killed, and then turned the gun on cameraman Ward, killing him as well, though not before Ward's camera caught a fleeting glimpse of his killer. Gardner was struck in the back by a bullet, and was said to be in stable condition at a nearby hospital.

Sickeningly, Flanagan apparently recorded the entire attack on his cell phone, later posting it to his social media pages which were eventually suspended.

After a police chase, his vehicle ran off the road and crashed. When police approached he was found to have shot himself, but was still alive.

The suspect was taken to a hospital and was being treated for life-threatening injuries, from which he later died.

The victims of Flanagan's attack—Alison Parker and Adam Ward—were both in their 20's. They were also both engaged, to other people.
