The two small explosions took place about 20 minutes apart. The churches are about 4 miles away from each other.

The first bomb went off in a mailbox in Calvary Baptist and the other in a trash can just outside Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church.

The bombings did cause minor damage, but no one was hurt or killed.

Father John Anderson was right in the middle of the mass at Holy Cross when he heard the explosion.

"I took the bread in my hands and I was saying 'take and eat,' and I was bending over saying 'this is My body,' when this loud bang went off. And I could see the papers floating down and I didn't know what was going on, but I continued on," he recalled.

Officials are advising other churches in the area not to risk inspecting strange packages on their own, but to call the police if they see anything suspicious.
