Kansas officer Mark Engravalle was called to the store to investigate Robinson, who had been caught stealing diapers, baby wipes and shoes for her children, totaling about $300.

Officer Engravalle was moved by her story, as she told him she and her kids had been living in her car since her husband had accidentally drowned a few years back. He noticed three of the children were shoeless with dirty feet. (Photo Courtesy: KSHB)

That's when the officer decided to help Sarah out using his own money. He went back into the store and purchased the items, including shoes for each of the children.

“Obviously she is going through a tough time," Officer Engravalle said. "Walmart might see her as a criminal, but I just saw her as a mom going through a difficult time."
