Courtney Best usually never looked at Amber Alerts. Now, she says, she'll be paying much closer attention.

airlift(Corpus Christi, TX)—Papa Murphy's employee Courtney Best was taking a break from her job last week around noon when she saw Channing Eloy Galbraith walking across the parking lot with young Nicholas Gomez, the focus of an Amber Alert.

In Best's words, "I saw a white car pull up, and I just happened to take my phone with me because we don't look at our phones at work, and I looked down and I saw ‘white Dodge Avenger Alert' and I was like, ‘Nah, that's not him."

But noticing the boy looked scared, Best checked the license plate on the Avenger and realized it matched.

Then, not only did Best call the police, but she got into her own car and followed Galbraith after he left the parking lot. Galbraith was quickly arrested and Gomez was taken to a Children's Hospital.
