(Charleston, NC)—Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has come out with high praise for Christians in Charleston following the mass murder of innocents at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. (Screengrab via Fox News Insider)

"They have something in Charleston that is remarkable, and that is this deep faith in Jesus Christ," Giuliani said. "They're turning the other cheek. They're showing love. They're showing that love can overcome hatred. They're showing that you have to forgive."

"I think the amount of love they’re showing in South Carolina," he added, "might help some healing in the United States."

In addition to his praise for the forgiving actions of the church, Giuliani did not hold back for his opinion on what should happen to gunman Dylann Roof, saying he was deserving of the harshest punishment possible.
