[CBN News] A new video shows Islamic State jihadists destroying ancient artifacts in Iraq, some of them were from a Biblical era.

The footage, released Thursday by ISIS, shows terrorists ripping protective coverings from artifacts in a museum in the city of Mosul.

They also used drills and sledgehammers to smash several statues and tablets. Many of those artifacts were part of the Christian heritage of that area.

"Oh Muslims, these artifacts that are behind me were idols and gods worshipped by people who lived centuries ago instead of Allah," a bearded man says in the video. "Our prophet ordered us to remove all these statues as his followers did when they conquered nations."
