Lockett, Executive Director of Bound4LIFE International, notes that these two cases at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals are challenges to state laws: one in Arkansas, one in North Dakota. "Both cases involve laws that ban abortion based on when a baby's heartbeat can be detected," he says.

"Legal matters require patience, and these things take time," continues Lockett. "We are called to be a people who watch and pray."

Lou Engle also urges persistence in prayer and standing for life. "I want to encourage everyone to a renewed commitment to pray for the courts of America," he says. "Our prayers actually move and shift history. William Wilberforce took 50 years to see the slave trade end. We must have no less that kind of spirit."

Engle has been involved with Bound4LIFE International since 2004, playing a significant role in its founding. He is best known as leader of TheCall, a prayer movement of solemn assemblies that recently marked its fourteenth year in ministry.
