The president and National Security Advisor Susan Rice met with Christian leaders from the region Thursday.

They spoke about the pressures Christians face from the rise of radical Islam.

The president said the United States will work with the Lebanese Armed Forces and other regional partners to tamp down the militant uprising.

The fighting in Syria and the rise of the ISIS army has forced hundreds of thousands of Christians to flee their homes in Syria and Iraq.
