Facing Cancer with Faith Instead of Fear

The Elijah List : Aug 25, 2014

From the very beginning, I knew we would do everything we could to battle my cancer. Sybil Redmon, Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer Patient
Facing Cancer with Faith instead of Fear
Sybil Redmon does not consider herself brave, but that is exactly the word that comes to mind when listening to her talk about the faith that has sustained her since being diagnosed with advanced stage pancreatic cancer. Instead of giving in to fear, Sybil chooses to give her concerns to God and do everything she can to fight the cancer.

The spiritual support of her pastor, church family and the hospital’s
pastoral care team encourages Sybil to continue that fight. Their love and prayers have lifted her up every step of the way.

Sybil tells people that God has used her experience with cancer to fill her life with unexpected blessings. Even on her worst days, she has never doubted that God loves her. Sybil is still fighting her battle, but along the way she makes an effort to reach out and help others who are dealing with cancer.

She says, “I believe that ultimately God is at work inside of me to do something, and I don’t know what the end result will be, but I know I am still here for a reason.”
