Liberia prays(Liberia)—Like many nations in Africa, Liberia has endured many trials in its history. Now, after nearly 12 years of "relative peace" its beleaguered citizens face a new threat to their existence: Ebola. (Photo via Christian Chronicle)

According to report in Christian Chronicle, since the virus has infected more than 300 people to date, many of the country's borders are shut, its schools are closed and people have stopped shaking hands.

Isaac Daye, an evangelist with Church of Christ in Africa, said, "Liberia is now facing a new wear, and from every indication the best weapon we have to fight back with is faith in the Lord—and the application of advice given by health authorities."

Across West Africa, he added, plans are being made to "mobilize the Church for fasting and prayer."
