Tomb destroyed(Iraq)—Although most major news stations have ignored this tragedy, Christians around the world are being notified that the ISIS troops in Iraq have "utterly destroyed" the purported tomb of Jonah in Mosul—a revered memorial for Christians for centuries.

"Jonah's tomb has been turned to dust," said one official.

Newsweek reported that ISIS also has replaced the crosses on Mosul's Syrian Orthodox cathedral with black flags.

Said Sam Hardy, a professor at the American University of Rome, "It indicates they [ISIS] are going for total eradication not just of their enemies but even of the possibility of people living together under their rule," adding that "basically pretty much anything in the Bible," can be expected to be destroyed in the future.

As for what can be done, Hardy was blunt. "If we didn't intervene when they were killing people, it would be kind of grotesque to intervene over a building."
