(Nashville, TN)—Famous Israeli singer and actor Dudu Fisher, star of best-selling, one-man show "Jerusalem," speaks out in support of his native country amidst recent events leading to military conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. As a show of solidarity, the world-renowned singer has also released a special rendition of his song "Jerusalem of Gold," now on YouTube.

Fisher commented from his home in Petach Tikvah near Jerusalem, "Since Israel gave the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians—instead of building schools, hospitals and homes—all that they have done is build arsenals of rockets and tunnels through which to enter Israel with the intent of destroying the country. They want to kill Israelis because they are Jews."

Dudu Fisher "Israel is strong and will fight for its survival. The world is hypocritical and judges Israel on a different standard than that of the rest of the world. Every day, thousands of people are being killed by governments and terrorist factions, and the world looks away. Only when Israel defends itself, and in its self-defense people are killed, does the world wake up to condemn the Jewish state. This will not change our minds. We want to live. We will survive."

Earlier this month, Fisher posted a new version of "Jerusalem of Gold" (from "Jerusalem"), featuring the Boys Choir of Springfield, click here to watch on YouTube. The song was recorded during a taping of the forthcoming PBS television special, "Dudu Fisher: The Voice of Broadway," to air nationwide. He comments, "While Hamas is shooting rockets to kill and destroy, we will keep on singing."
