"I stay grounded with my family, reading God's Word … those are the things that matter at the end of the day." -Sarah Darling
(Nashville, TN)—ABC News describes Sarah Darling, from Mitchellville, Iowa, as "Nashville's Darling" since moving to Music City 11 years ago. "She has graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry over 50 times since her debut in 2011," it adds, and "her passion for baking, love for fashion, and strong faith have grounded her in the ups and downs of the music business." Addressing the issue of her faith, Darling spoke recently with Fox News about how crucial it has been to her survival in the entertainment industry, even though it isn't always easy.
"Faith has always been the center of what I do," she said. "Singing, life, everything—it gets me through and keeps me grounded."
"I struggle the most with the fact that being in the entertainment world, it's all about you and you have to create this, almost, character," she added. "God gave me this gift and I want to use it for the right ways, but you can't let your head get too big. That would be my biggest struggle—just losing touch and remembering I'm not a big deal, which you see sometimes with people in music having a big ego."
