"We can argue about whether we like football or basketball as soldiers or sailors, airmen, marine or coast guardsmen… when it comes time; we never leave a soldier on the battlefield." –Montel Williams

(Myrtle Beach, SC)—While joining in with other veterans and their families, at a Memorial Day gathering, Monday; TV personality, Montel Williams—a 22-year veteran himself—launched into a passionate oration regarding the current debacle with the Veterans Affairs. (Photo via The Blaze)

Fighting back tears at times, Williams spoke of the lack of treatment, care and the waning interest and attention to wounded warriors, who deserve so much better.

He noted that he had made more than 30 visits to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, over a period of three years; trying to visit "every single soldier."

Williams continued, saying that even celebrities weren't visiting the wounded vets, like they had been doing.

Toward the end of his spontaneous message, Montel spoke ardently of a solution which the president and Congress could implement…

"Consider this thought," said Williams. "What if the President were to order the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, whomever it be, in collaboration with the Secretaries of Defense and HHS, to within thirty days report back with plans to execute a 90 day [medical] 'surge' using the existing healthcare resources of the various Departments, and such civilian support as may be necessary, to entirely clear the backlog and establish a baseline such that we can accurately judge the resources needed to provide timely care to every veteran and honor the commitment that seems sadly to have been broken."

Williams' speech was caught on video and posted on YouTube by the local newspaper, according to The Blaze report. Watch it by Clicking Here or on the video above.

In addition, Montel wrote an Op-Ed piece in which he called the VA scandal a "National outrage…" To read it, Click Here.
