The Lord says in Isaiah 65:24; ". . . before they call, I will answer . . ." Indeed, as the "week of prayer for North Korea" has just begun, there has already been an answer regarding at least one of the main concerns; nuclear weapons.

Pyongyang After seven days of talks outlining North Korea's disarmament, a joint statement was issued stating that North Korea is "committed to abandoning all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs." According to the APreport, they also agreed, in the statement, to return early to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards.

Though pleased with the agreement, the White House remained cautious as spokesman Scott McClellan said, "North Korea now needs to live up to the agreement. That means dismantling their nuclear programs and allowing for verification to demonstrate that it has ended its nuclear activities."

Editor's Note: This is a wonderful encouragement as we pray this week for North Korea, but there remains great oppression in the land both spiritually and physically. Many Believers especially, are persecuted, some tortured and held in dark prisons for their faith. So we are encouraged by this development, but will continue to call out to God on behalf of the people and the conditions in North Korea. - Aimee Herd, Breaking Christian News.
