It will be an amazing scene in "Portlandia" as the line of crosses could be a half-mile long, or longer.

Carrying a cross(Portland, OR)—Three years ago, while attending a men's conference in New Hope Community Church in Happy Valley, Oregon, Scott Stuart heard a message by Joe White, founder of Men at the Cross ministry which caused him to envision literal crosses being carried in the city of Portland. Enter Christian author Bill Perkins of West Linn, who took Stuart's vision and is helping to organize an Easter Cross Walk event in which 300 physical crosses, each weighing 50 pounds, will be carried along a designated route in the counter-culture mecca, while at the same time, some 900 Christians will "carry crosses" in intercessory prayer for revival.

"This will be a silent walk," noted Perkins, "in which the participants will have spent days and weeks before it preparing themselves for a deep spiritual experience. Men, women, families and students will participate."

Christian News Northwest quoted Perkins as saying it will be an amazing scene as the line of crosses could be a half-mile long, or longer.

"I'm convinced that this is going to spark something in the hearts of a lot of people across the country," he said.
