Bill Gaither on Retirement and 50 Years of Marriage

Gaither, who was raised in the church, and his wife Gloria still live in the modest house they built for $25,000 in 1965 near Alexandria.

"We just had our 50th wedding anniversary," he noted. "I say we are the two youngest teenagers in America.

Gaither describes how he and Gloria met when they were both teachers. Besides sharing a love of literature, poetry, drama and politics, he said they've always talked a lot about ideas that motivate us to compose music. And at 77 years of age, he has no plans for retiring.

"I haven't even thought about it," he said.
