It will take place September 14.

Day of remembrance (Staten Island, NY)—Three national pro-life groups have announced a “National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children” to honor infants killed by abortion. The inaugural date will be Saturday, September 14, 2013.

The nationwide observance will be marked by simultaneous memorial services in multiple cities at gravesites of aborted babies. The bodies of aborted babies have been buried at more than twenty-five locations nationwide. Many of their bodies were retrieved from trash bins outside abortion clinics, or pathology labs where the bodies of aborted babies are often shipped. Some graves have hundreds of bodies buried in them.

Recently Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for life has asked authorities for the bodies of the babies recovered from Gosnell’s House of Horrors. The bodies of some 45 babies were recovered from the clinic, where they were kept frozen in a variety of containers in freezers. Fr. Pavone hopes to give the babies a proper burial.

The Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children is being coordinated by Citizens for a Pro-life Society, Priests for Life, and the Pro-life Action League. The coalition of pro-life groups expects thousands of people from across the country to participate in the memorial services. This is the first time in the history of legalized abortion that such nationwide memorials will be conducted.
