As prayer unites grieving Oklahomans, stories continue to surface like this one of an expectant mother finding herself utterly dependent on God's mercy.

"How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women…" -Mark 13:17

Miracle birth (Moore, OK)—Yes, of all situations a human being could fear being caught in during a catastrophe, a woman in labor ranks near the top. In such a compromised, restricted state, a laboring mother is completely at the mercy of God when circumstances beyond her control turn deadly. (Photo: YouTube video)

Such was the case of 25-year-old Shayla Taylor, who found herself in Moore Medial Center the afternoon of the now infamous EF-5 twister that decimated the area.

Taylor told NBC News that while she was in labor, suddenly "the floor was shaking like an earthquake and then I saw the ceiling shaking too. You could see insulation starting to fall. Me and two of the nurses were all just holding hands and praying, and I opened my eyes and I could see out the wall."

Giving God glory for her and her newborn's survival, Taylor named her baby son, Braeden Immanuel, which means "God is with us."

"The name had been picked out for months," she added. "Now I know why."
