Pentagon Defends its New Policy against "proselytization" in the Military—but their Definitions Raise Concern…Meanwhile, First Military Officer Steps Forward to Defy the Policy

After the hackles on every Bible-believing Christian were raised by word of the Pentagon's new policy of "no proselytizing" among military members—including chaplains—the Pentagon attempted to defend its confirmed statements noting that Christians in the military could still "evangelize" if they wanted.

The problem lies in the definitions of "proselytize" and "evangelize"—according to general, legal and theological dictionaries, the two words mean the same thing. Therefore, to outlaw "proselytizing" is to outlaw "evangelizing."

Even if they do clarify what they mean by inventing their own definition, the question remains; who will decide whether someone has crossed that line or not? Mikey Weinstein—the new policy-guru for the Pentagon who just happens to be rabidly-anti-Christian? A scary thought indeed.
