(Santa Monica, CA)—Game Show Networks' highest rated original series, THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE, has been awarded the prestigious Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring TV Program of 2012 at the 21st Annual Movieguide® Faith & Values Awards recently held at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Universal City, CA.
Season 2 of THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE hosted by Jeff Foxworthy will premiere on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on GSN. It will also feature musical guests, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and more.
Host Jeff Foxworthy probably wouldn't be a bad contestant either—he's been part of a weekly men's Bible study group for 15 years. And, the last few years he's led a regular Bible study for homeless men at the Atlanta Mission's downtown Shepherd's Inn, according to a report by Access Atlanta.
Foxworthy discussed the Bible game show with a news crew from Atlanta. "The thing that sold me on it was, everybody on the show, they're not playing for themselves," explained Foxworthy during an 11Alive News interview. "They take every dime they win and they turn around and love on somebody in their community."
Since 1996, the $100,000 Epiphany Prizes, supported by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, have been annually awarded to the top movies and TV programs which are wholesome, uplifting and help "increase man's understanding and love of God."
