Prayer meeting (Venice, FL)—Shane and Marlene Roessiger can breathe a little easier now, but the prayers will continue—that's because they won their legal battle to hold a weekly prayer meeting in their home.

The battle had gone on for months, as the couple and their attorney faced off with the city of Venice, Florida's Code Enforcement Board.

The Roessiger's prayer meetings consisted of typically 6 to 10 people joining them weekly, but city officials attempted to ban their meetings citing a city code that doesn't allow a "house of worship on a property smaller than two acres."

The couple was also in trouble for a sign they had posted in their yard which read: "Need Prayer (941) 484-4915".

At a recent city meeting, however, the board voted unanimously to drop the two matters.
