Father's Final Sacrifice of Love Saves His Son

(Philadelphia, PA)?In a last-second act of that "greater love" of which Jesus spoke, a man in Northeast Philadelphia pushed his five-year-old boy to safety before the car heading straight for them took his own life.

The father and son were crossing Roosevelt Blvd last week, where it intersects with Rhawn St.?a stretch of road that has proved dangerous and sometimes deadly to pedestrians time and again, according to the FOX 29 report.

The little boy suffered a cut on his ear from being shoved to the ground; his father's last act that saved his life.

An off-duty police officer saw the entire incident and was able to apprehend the driver of the car who fled the scene after hitting Romano.

He was found to be under the influence, and was already on probation for a DUI conviction.
