"We hope this helps everyone understand some numbers are more important than the ones on the scoreboard." –Jim Daly

Focus on the family adIf you were glued to the TV this past Saturday night for the matchup between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos, you probably caught Focus on the Family's latest commercial using children to recite the Scripture John 3:16.

According to Focus, the spot has "one simple purpose: to share with the game's national TV audience the meaning of the Scripture that has been the No. 1 internet search term over the last week."

Focus president Jim Daly explained on the website, "There's been a lot of buzz lately about what John 3:16 says, and we wanted to help people understand it without having to run to their computer to look it up. For Christians, the verse is the essence of the Good News of Jesus Christ, and when you have good news you want to share it with as many people as possible. We hope this helps everyone understand some numbers are more important than the ones on the scoreboard."

There were an estimated 50 million viewers of Saturday's game, who most likely also saw the simple-yet-effective message shared in Focus' spot.
