Bethany HamiltonIn October 2003, 13-year-old surfing star Bethany Hamilton lost her arm in a shark attack. Now 21, Hamilton is featured on a new I Am Second video giving her testimony.

"From what seems like such a horrible thing, God has just brought glory to Himself," Hamilton says. "I have been able to be just a good light to people and just share His love. I wake up every day and [try to] honor God in everything that I do and I may fall short sometimes, but all I want to do is love Him."

At one point in the video, Hamilton recalls a paramedic on the way to the hospital whispering in her ear, "God will never leave you nor forsake you."

As reported in The Christian Post, Hamilton competes full-time in the ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) World Qualifying Series.

On April 8, the movie Soul Surfer, based on Hamilton's experience, will open in theaters around the country.
