Jerusalem's Western Wall May be Broken to Build New City Gate

(Jerusalem, Israel)—A plan to renovate sections of Jerusalem's Old City, which would involve a new gate being broken in the city walls for the first time in 112 years, has been presented to Jerusalem's Planning and Building Committee.

According to the report, the plan is meant to accommodate visitors to the Western Wall, as well as residents of the Jewish Quarter.
