Big Daddy Weave's Mike Weaver Nears His Weight Loss Goal

It's the number one resolution made pretty much every January: to lose weight.

Last year it was Mike Weaver's resolution; to lose 90 lbs. in '09. And, while he didn't quite reach his goal within his specified time frame, he did lose a whopping 84 lbs?a fantastic achievement in itself. (Photo: CBN TV)

Mike Weaver is the frontman for the Christian band Big Daddy Weave. Last year, he decided to make a change for the better, for himself, his family and ultimately for the Lord.

"I'm blown away, and I'm so thankful too," says Mike, "not only for the 84 pounds [lost], but also for how different my life is physically."

The lead singer enlisted the help of his doctor to make the necessary changes in what he ate, and working out.

"?the big thing is that he took responsibility, and now his life will never be the same," noted Dr. Asa Andrew about Mike's weight loss journey. "There's always hope to get your health back."

"My life is a completely brand new place in so many ways," adds Mike, "I thank God for that. ?It's about learning to surrender every area of our life over to Him, and to live in that grace that empowers us?"
