"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" –Acts 20:35

GivingThe Christian Post (CP) reports on the results of a study done by Harris Interactive which found that a majority of Americans (49 percent) would prefer to give a "charitable gift" as a Christmas or holiday present.

The poll, conducted via telephone on behalf of the Christian humanitarian and relief organization, World Vision, surveyed 1,001 US adults between October 29th and November 1st.

Justin Greeves, senior vice president of public affairs and policy research at Harris Interactive, commented on the study saying, "[E]ven in these difficult times, an overwhelming majority of Americans still want to help others in need and [76 percent] would rather receive a gift that would help another instead of receiving a traditional gift for themselves."
