UPDATE: 13 murdered and 30 Wounded by shooter on Fort Hood Army Base in Texas.

UPDATED REPORT [6:30PM PT Nov.5th] According to a recent press conference with Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, at the Fort Hood Army Base, 13 were killed and 30 wounded when fellow soldier, Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, opened fire on a medical waiting area in the Soldiers Readiness Facility.
Contrary to what was first reported on media outlets, the shooter was not killed, but was injured in the effort to stop him, and was taken into custody.
Lt. Gen. Cone noted that the attack "could have been worse if not for the quick reactions of first responders in providing first aid to the victims."
The base remained in lock-down mode as other people were questioned, but later released.
A graduation ceremony at the Army post had been going on at the time of the shooting which occurred after 1:30pm local time on Thursday.
