According to ASSIST News, newly elected Pope Benedict XVI will follow in his predecessor's footsteps in having an email address available to the public.

On Thursday, the Vatican's website was updated to include an icon on the home page that automatically activates an email composer with the Pope's address.

Pope John Paul II was the first pontiff to use email, reports say he received tens of thousands of messages in his final weeks of life.

If you would like to email the new pope in English, surf over to "benedictxvi@vatican.va." In Italian its: "benedettoxvi@vatican.va," according to a story by the Associated Press.

Managing Editor's Note: We are intrigued that emailing the pope, who oversees 1.1 Billion Catholics worldwide--is made available to you. We want to exhort those who may find themselves in disagreement with some Catholic theology to show Christian Charity, according to the Scriptures-- when you write..as this would be pleasing to the Lord. -- Steve Shultz, Founder, Breaking Christian News.
